James Baumgarten

Optometrist

James graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Optometry from Melbourne University in 1990. After working for 3 years at the Victorian College of Optometry as a clinician and instructor, he joined Peter Dwyer at Family Eyecare in 1994. He completed a further 12 months’ study in 2003 to attain a Graduate Diploma in Ocular Therapeutics, permitting him to prescribe antibiotic and anti-inflammatory eyedrops and ointments. James served on the council of the Victorian College of Optometry for 10 years, finishing in 2004.

Annette Tiu

Optometrist

Annette graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Optometry from Melbourne University in 1990. She worked for 10 years at the Victorian College of Optometry, where she reached the level of Senior Optometrist as well as serving on the Clinic Board of Management. In 2001 she left to join James at Family Eyecare. Annette has completed two separate additional degrees: the Post-graduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Optometry (1998) and the Graduate Diploma in Ocular Therapeutics (2001).

Bill Katsabis

Optometrist

Bill graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Optometry from Melbourne University in 1995. After working in two separate private optometry practices, he established his own practice in 2002, which he then sold after 6 years when he joined Family Eyecare. A man of many talents, Bill also completed an architectural degree in 2010.

We have an amazing loyal and professional support team who are always happy to help. Karyn Rolfe has been with us for over 35 years, Alison Webb for over 20 years and our newest member Kate Lovell joined us in 2019.
